Jeremiah 15:16 (KJV)
16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.
Jeremiah fed upon the nourishing and joy giving Words of God. We are wise to do the same today. Devotional books are good and helpful, but do not let them keep you from feeding on the Word of God. I find it best to combine the reading of one or two good devotionals with the reading of the Word.
I continue to enjoy the following devotionals:
1. Streams in the Desert, by L. B. Cowan (Check it out HERE)
2. Jesus is Calling, by Sarah Young

I use YouVersion for my Bible reading plan. It is an app that gives you a portion of the Bible to read each day. They have numerous reading plans for you to choose from.
The main thing is to read the Word, think about what you have read and to seek to apply it to your life. Then you too will know the "joy and rejoicing" of your heart as you feast on God's Word.
"Thank You for the Scripture" will be more than just the title for today's message; it will be the cry of our heart as we increase our appetite and desire for the "sincere milk of the word" so that we may grow by it (1 Peter 2:2)
