Sunday Review

Here is a recap of Sunday's message:

1. Friends don't let friends miss Christ
      A. After Andrew found Christ we read that "He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, "We    have found the Messiah" (John 1:41)
     B. After the demon possessed man met Christ he was told by Christ to "Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you." (Mark 5:19)
We too are to seek out our family members and friends to tell them of all Christ has done for us and how He has had mercy on us.

2. Friends don't let friends miss church
     A. It is a place where we are CHALLENGED (Heb 10:24-25)
     B. It is a place where we are COMFORTED (2 Cor. 1:3-4)
     C. It is a place where we enjoy COMMUNITY (1 Cor. 12:12-20)
     D. It is a place where we encounter CHRIST (Matt. 18:20)

My prayer is that we will each be moved to invite friends, relatives, associates and neighbors to join us for worship on Sunday January 23rd. That Sunday may prove to be a life changing Sunday for someone you know.

I am praying and preparing for God to work in our midst during the month of January.

For His Glory,
Pastor Mike

Elaine Vinyard's Funeral Arrangements

Visitation for the Elaine Vinyard family (Carol Everett's sister) will be on Monday, January 3, from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Wallis - Wilbanks Funeral home in LaFayette, GA. Click HERE to go to the funeral home website to view the obituary and to get directions to the funeral home.

The service will be held in the funeral home chapel, on Tuesday at 2:00pm.

Let's keep the Vineyard's, Everett's and all of the extended family in our prayers at this time.

Praying for the Miller and Everett families

Tonight our church family will be meeting at Mason’s Funeral home, to be with the Miller family. Becky Miller’s mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Adams passed away on December 31, 2010. She was blessed to have lived 95 years. We can find strength and comfort in the words of Psalm 116:15 which tells us “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” While there is sorrow at our loss there is still comfort in knowing that for all who know Christ “to be absent from the body,” is “to be present with the Lord.” (2 Cor. 5:8).
You can view Mrs. Adams obituary by clicking HERE.

Let’s also remember to pray for Carol Everett and the sudden passing of her sister Elaine, on Saturday evening. Elaine has struggled with various health issues for years and while we also sorrow over our loss we are comforted in knowing that she is in the presence of the Lord and is no longer trouble by any physical aches, pains or other health issues. Funeral arrangements will be posted as soon as I am aware of them.
